Doing final touches, editing and publishing

Today was the best and most exciting day. Indeed the best! Today was very easy. I had to do the final touches in which i corrected some mistakes, added more pictures to some areas, fonts etc. I then edited my website. After going over my website over 3 times, correcting mistakes and adding other necessary things. I told my client; Moiz Jivanji to have a last look at my website for the last time and see if everything is ok. The images will be found in my drop box which i will give the link of below. Moiz Jivanji stated some corrections while he read the website and gave me advice on what i can add or remove. In general, he was satisfied and pleased with the job i done. I took his advice into concern and eventually it was helpful.

Lastly, it was time to publish. This was the easiest part of the website although when it was time to publish my website was not publishing and asked me to pay. I started to wonder, that weebly is a free website builder so why is it asking me to pay. I wrote my domains over and over again but it never worked. I called my friends and asked them and all of us had the same problem. I was really frustrated and tired as it was now getting dark. My mind couldn't think. I tried everything but nothing happened. Later i called my brother and told him the issue. He then did the same thing that i did, and i don't know how but it got published? Despite the confusion, i started jumping up and down in my room. My website was published! My first made website! I went on whats app, instagram and I spread the link of website to my family members, friends and other people. People replied giving amazing comments which made very proud and happy of my work. Today, I learn't and developed my IT skills, editing skills and publishing skills. More over, I tested my patience and problem solving skills to the fullest. I also used my social media skills to spread awareness about the link of my website. This was the first time of making a website of my own, and it showed that i can be a good business man as my advertising skills are excellent as quoted by my peers. I am now looking forward to make another website!

Thursday the 17th and Friday the 18th of October

Adding all content, hyperlinks, logos and images

Today and yesterday, I added all my content , hyperlinks, images and logos. I had to do all of these tasks at one go, as i couldn't finish over the week as i was busy and had gone out of town. However whilst i was out of town, i researched and gathered all my information so that it will be easier as i just have to copy and paste. Adding the content was easy and interesting and got to learn a lot. i developed my researching skills. Organizing the content, was a separate activity but I didn't do that activity as whilst i was adding all the information i was organizing it at the same time. So i found irrelevant to waste a whole day (according to my plan) to organize the information. in addition my organization skills were put to test. I was happy and satisfied, with the information/content that i kept on the website keeping four things in my head all the time "is it relevant, is it catchy, is it persuasive and is it interesting. Carrying these four things in my mind helped me write excellent content which was very heart touching as said by my brother.

 Next, after i had inserted all the content, I kept the images to all pages with content. Adding the images wasn't hard but to find relevant pictures was the difficult part. I had to search over 10 times for one nice photo and most of them were nothing related to what i wanted. However, i managed to get some pictures. The second most difficult thing was adding the hyperlinks. First of all, didn't know how to create the hyperlink on weebly, so i had to go on you tube and search for video showing how to create a hyperlink on weebly. Luckily i found one. The video was very easy to understand and therefore i learn't how to make the hyperlinks. After looking at the video,i though to myself "how simple was that" After this i added logos to every page of my website. According to my designs, the logo was suppose to be at the top corner of every page. But in Weebly you can't keep the Tittle of the website and the logo together. So i had to keep the logos beneath the headings. Yesterday and today was very challenging and tough, as a lot of work had been compiled on me, to do in 2 days. However I learn't and developed many skills including organization, researching and writing and presentation skills. I developed most of them and some i learn't for the first time. I am now very relieved, as these were the most important parts/tasks of making my website and am happy that i was able to finish them in time and nicely. Next, i have to do my final touches to the website.

Do the layout of the other pages in my website and adding all titles and subtitles

I was supposed to do the layout of  the pages on the 11th of October, but because of circumstances, such as the extended task of making the homepage was done on that day and on Saturday therefore i had decided to finish this task on Sunday however there was a power cut, the whole day on Sunday therefore i couldn't do any work. I was very sad and angry. In addition, as today, i only had to make the tittles and subtitles, which was very easy and took less time , I also finished up doing the layout of the pages. More over, today i also added all the pages of my website, so i can do the layout of the pages. Today, I put my organization skills into practice as I had to keep my titles and subtitles in the right place which divided information to make it more organized and I also used my organization skills to do the layout of my pages, which was dragging elements such as text to where I will keep my information and image to where i will insert an image. This will make me know where each thing will go on my website rather than just stuffing stuff on the website. I finished both of this tasks in 1 hour and the given time altogether for both of these tasks was 1 hour 50 minutes. I was not able to keep all the titles and subtitles, as in some cases, i didn't know what information will be kept there. I have to improve on my subtitles and subtitles as some of them were boring, therefore i have to make them more catchy so the readers get attention to that particular information. I was satisfied with the work i had done today, and am generally confident to move on.

Creating the Homepage

This is the second time, i worked on my website. Today i was able to finish creating the homepage. I am very enthusiastic, and proud of the work i have done so far as my goal at the end of today, was to have made an excellent, attractive and catchy home page as I did. To test the quality of my homepage, i told my brother who has fallen in the trap of westernization to view and read my homepage. first of all he got really engrossed in the website and just by the introductory part of the website, he was really touched as it was clearly seen in his face. This showed that my homepage was excellent. I felt very grateful and satisfied, as i was not that sure about how effective my homepage will be. i learnt, many things such as how to keep an image in the website which i found hard to understand in the starting, but i was able to do it with the help of my brother. I also learn't and developed different skills which include my creativity skills, organization skills and communication skills. This task was mean't to be done on the 10th of October, but because i was busy with my ptc's and i was out almost the whole day, i could not do it. However, in my plan i had mentioned that i have not kept any task over this weekend as i know i am mostly busy over weekends. Although, this weekend i will stay home. So i will try finish the other task over this weekend,  that i was suppose to do yesterday but i couldn't as i working on my homepage yesterday and today. Next time, i would like to improve on my interpersonal skills and work independently, as today i was bothering my brother a lot on how to do this and that however this will not happen again, as i now know how to do everything on weebly through today's experience

Choosing theme and website domains

Today was the first day of the create stage. According to the plan, today i was suppose to choose the theme of my website and the domains.I had already signed up from before, so that didn't take me long to log in. This tasks were very easy and took abit more time than the time that was given for this task, as I took long thinking an finding a domain for my website. I already knew which theme i needed, by referring to the chosen design. My weaknesses included; i didn't use my time well as i went over the time specified for the task, therefore i should improve on my time-management skills. The reason why,  I took long for making a domain for my website was because i was very stubborn and changed my domain all the time, as i wasn't sure whether the domain will be appropriate and relevant, this means I should improve on my decision making skills. My strengths also included making good use of my skills and resources provided for each task. I also made a good use of my designs. I am very happy today as i have finally started making the website to spread awareness about westernization's impact on culture and i am excited to for the rest of the create process, as this is the first time i am making a website. To conclude with, I found this very easy as Weebly is the best and most easiest, free website builder and is very straight forward.
